While angular and rotational move-ments under load will mainly cause wear, other cases may result in material fatigue. Indication of load capacities is always dependent upon basic definitions. Therefore, load capacity figures from different manufacturers, cannot simply be compared with each other.
The static load capacity C0 indicates the maximum load which a bushing, flange bushing or thrust washer can support at room temperature in the static condition, without permanent deformation occurring in the sliding layer that may impair the bearings function. At higher temperatures the static load capacity has to be reduced, depending on the sliding material combination, by the temperature factor c3, which also applies to dynamically loaded bearings. Additionally, the permissible temperature application ranges have to be observed for the individual sliding materials.
